LUKE TORGERSON
Luke Torgerson has been Charity’s Music Coordinator for the past nine months. His favorite song is “Heart Won’t Stop,” by John Mark McMillan. Luke’s go-to Bible verse is Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
“In my senior year of high school I was sitting at a stop light,” Luke said. “I said out loud, ‘God if you’re real, show me.’ As soon as I had finished speaking, a comet streaked across the night sky.”
Luke and his wife, Andrea, have a son named Leonidas who is 3-years-old and so full of light and joy. In addition to his family, Luke loves to skateboard and go on long walks with his son, play music with his wife and cooking. Fresh food and plant-based meals with Jiu Jitsu are some of Luke’s favorite parts of the week.
As far as favorite Bible stories go, Luke's is about Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, who performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. And he struck down an Egyptian who was five cubits tall. Although the Egyptian had a spear like a weaver’s rod in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear.
