DOUG LEET
Doug Leet assumed the role of Executive Director of Ministries about a year ago, but has been employed by Charity for eight years.
He believes that his three favorite Bible verses have a common theme of gentleness and respect. They are Proverbs 15:1; Philippians 4:4-8; and 1 Peter 4:15.
Doug’s God-moment is how God works through other people in our lives, including through one’s family. “For us, Rhonda and I basically de-churched ourselves during college and the first 6 years of our marriage. The birth of our son Eric is what brought us to Charity. It’s a story that I’d love to share with anyone who’s interested…it’s probably not unlike others’ experiences in being led back to a faith community,” he said.
A Christian rock song is “I’ve Always Loved You.” by Third Day.
When Doug’s not at church working, he loves to spend time with the family, enjoying alone time with his dog, Siri, and outdoor activities like walking the dog, bicycling, upland game hunting, and lake/river fun.
Doug is happily married to Rhonda for 35 years; blessed with children Eric, Kristen (Faragher) and Kari. And, blessed again with son-in-law, Ryan Faragher, and grandson, Harlan. And, the family has always had a canine pet as part of the family; starting with Buck, then Britta, and now Siri…who has now been joined by Zeppelin, the feline.
“Ever since childhood, I’ve liked the story of David and Goliath…a story of fear, and a faith and passion for God. Unrelated to this, I like a video that’s gone viral over the last few years, “Battle at Kruger” (Water buffalos vs. lions), where an individual steps out from the pack to defend a vulnerable member, and then others follow the lead,” he said.
