Join the Charity Family

Three simple steps to becoming a member of Charity

Step 1: Get Interested

Call the Church Office 258-1228

This step happens when you express interest in becoming a member /disciple of Charity. You will be directed toward a disciple or staff person who can provide you with initiation materials for membership. These materials include a ministry listing along with a welcome letter and information regarding our next “First Step” membership potluck meeting (approximately 2 hours). If, in your continuing involvement at Charity, you decide to attend the “First Step” membership meeting, you simply contact the office (258-1228) in advance and show up!

Step 2:  Get Involved

At the end of the “First Step” meeting, we ask prospective members to become connected to Charity’s family life in some tangible way that can be confirmed by a leader or current member, including participation in any of Charity’s small groups, adult education offerings, ALPHA, or weekly serving groups.  We want people to have a sense of connection - relationally - in going forward with membership commitment, not just hope it is established after membership. More information and sign up occurs at this meeting.

Step 3:  Get the Vision

The membership process concludes with a "Joining the Family” potluck meeting after the "First Step" meeting.

At this meeting, you will share with other prospective members why you decided to join Charity.  During the program, we will discuss the vision of Charity and core discipleship expectations. You will be asked to complete a Time and Talent survey and will also be encouraged to become involved in learning and serving groups in addition to signing a covenant of commitment.  After that …Congratulations!  You are a new disciple /member of Charity Lutheran Church!

All new members will be recognized during a specified church service following this final step.

We look forward to seeing you!

If you have any questions or would like to visit with us, please call.  As pastors, we try to visit with new people along the way too.
