Christ on Campus
As college students head off for another year of classes, there is Someone waiting for them on that campus: Jesus. Yes, that same Lord who was there to hear their borning cry and Who promised at their baptism to never leave them or forsake them.
There are also dedicated and energetic Christian mentors who are Christ’s hands, feet and ears, ready to befriend a new, struggling student or just anyone. These gifted folks carry on the work started by Charity’s years of education and youth ministries.
One of these ministries is Campus Crusade for Christ. You may have noticed that Charity supports with prayer and funding a lot of Campus Crusade teams around the state. Though we don’t give big gifts to any one particular campus staff, we do want to bless them in any way we can. You can especially pray for revival at all America’s colleges, and that all true Christian workers are empowered to reap a harvest of a hundredfold, just like in the parable of the sower in Matthew 4.
Here are connections to several CCC staff around the state:

Another excellent campus ministry is InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, with over 700 chapters. Go to www.intervarsity.org to see if one is open at the college where someone you love attends. They are also famous for URBANA, a powerful missions conference held every four years during the Christmas break, with one coming up this year.
You probably already know that Steven and Robin Ose were our CCC missionaries in East Asia. (We cannot say exactly where because of hostile government restrictions against Christians there.) Now they are home because of health issues, but are carrying on with evangelism among the hundreds of students from that country who come to the U of Minnesota. Think about it – the young men and women they help to become Jesus’ disciples will go back and be the leaders of that society!
So whether it is some fledgling freshman you care deeply about, or a total stranger from half a world away, know that Charity’s involvement in campus ministries, or your personal support and prayer, is there to help them grow in their faith.
