Facility Properties

Small group service team for facility construction and maintenance

The Charity Lutheran Church Properties team is an informal group of volunteers who respond to the call for service and participate often in the many projects this group has tackled over the years. A large group of these volunteers were responsible for almost 100 percent of the recent landscaping and rock work on the exterior of the facility, and much of the volunteer labor involved in the recent remodel and upgrade of the interior of Charity Lutheran Church.

If you are interested in joining this group of volunteers for lots of laughs and fellowship, please contact Jerry Walz.

Retaining wall project

Most weekends and many week nights during summer 2007, a dedicated group of Charity men worked on the western retaining wall next to the lower parking lot. Tracey Leetun designed the landscaping. The project was an all-volunteer effort that was included in the original construction and remodeling of the south parking lot, but did not get done until this year. The monies for the materials came from the construction loan for the 2005 project. The project involves planting of several trees, perennials, shrubs, and the erection of a large wooden cross and seating area on the south end of the wall. The landscaping also features steps from the lower lot to the upper lot.

Old wooden cross project

In August 2009, the wooden cross was designed and built by Tracy Leetun, Milt Westgard and Jim Wheeler and put into place.  What a beautiful all-laity project - the Charity family thanks everyone involved in this long-term project.
